Lisa S. Hindle Deppe, DVM Veterinarian/Owner
Originally from Cumberland, Rhode Island, Dr. Lisa Hindle Deppe attended Franklin Pierce College in Rindge, New Hampshire. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology, and graduated Cum Laude. Lisa attended Iowa State University's College of Veterinary Medicine. 8 years after graduating, Jewell Animal Hospital was opened on April 1, 2003. Lisa has dedicated her career to providing affordable, quality pet care and offering assistance to shelters and rescues that are overwhelmed with the pet overpopulation problem. Surprised to find a lack of animal control in Hamilton County, she has founded the South Hamilton Animal Alliance. Lisa has a rescued Golden Retriever named Ellie, a rescued Collie named Raven, a Shih tzu named Kirby, and 5 cats. She is married to Justin Deppe of Deppe Law Office in Jewell, and they have a 6 year old daughter, Miranda and a 4 year old son, Connor. She is also author of the blog www.VetRescue.blogspot.com

Heidi Eckers, CVT Certified Veterinary Technician
Heidi is originally from Owatonna, Minnesota. She is a graduate of Argosy University's Veterinary Technology program and is a Certified Veterinary Technician. She is active in animal rescue working with South Hamilton Animal Alliance and Midwest Peke and Chin Rescue. She has two Pekingese, Holly and Rudy.

Missy Mabe Veterinary Assistant Adoption Coordinator
Missy is our Pet Adoption Coordinator. She is in charge of paperwork and computers, and assists in caring for the animals. Missy is an animal rescuer at HEART, Hardin Eldora Animal Rescue Team. Her experience with animals of all sizes comes in handy on a daily basis in our clinic. Her dogs include Arthur, Bailey, Billy, Bradley, Brandy, Brittany, Bindie and Jack. Her Horses include Zena, Lola, Skip, and Sheba. She has 3 goats named Edmund, Claire, and Curtis. Her chickens are known to all as Landis, Stevie, Frankie, Charlie, Amiee, Rootbeer, Cola, and Float The cats that do not eat the chickens are named Viper, Hank, Trumen, Patrick,Tabitha, Tobisha, and Mario.

Kassy Hegland Animal Care Assistant Special Needs Foster Volunteer
Kassy is a gifted animal care assistant. Her priorities after providing the necessities such as food, water, and exercise, include giving each of our adoptable pets the affection they need until they find their forever home. Kassy is a high school student busy with family and friends and active in sports. She and her family do volunteer foster care for newborn puppies and kittens and special needs/senior homeless pets.

Miguel Hegland Veterinary Assistant Transportation Coordinator
Miguel is a part time student at Iowa Central Community College. Miguel has been working in the veterinary field since he was 14 years old and has a gift with even the most frightened of animals. He has a rescued Great Dane mix named Lady, 2 Chihuahuas named Angel and Rascal, a Shih tzu mix named Duke, a Pekingese name Chloe, a cat named Charlie, birds, hamsters, a rabbit, and fish. He is the Ellsworth Director and Transport Coordinator of our South Hamilton Animal Alliance.

Miranda Deppe Saturday Supervisor
Miranda is 7 years old and "works" on Saturdays. She enjoys Barbie dolls, princesses, puppies and kittens.

Connor Deppe Saturday Assistant
Connor is 4 years old and "works' on Saturdays. He enjoys Spider-man, things that involve Spider-man, and animals that resemble Spider-man.

Raven Official Greeter
Raven is a thirteen year old Tricolor Collie adopted from the Minnesota Wisconsin Collie Rescue. She doesn't see or hear well anymore, but still loves to welcome people and their pets.
